Genderbread Person v. 2

Hey everyone.

For this assignment I decided to show Genderbread Person v. 2 to a good friend. I knew that she had never seen this image before and is currently in a relationship with another female. I was very curious to see what her opinion of this was going to be.

First I gave her a quick explanation of what the Genderbread Person is and that there are several versions of it. Then we went through each of the for sections where we discussed what we thought each section meant. From there we talked about the sample answers bellow each section. She said that there were some flaws with this, and that is certainly true. We were wondering how in the second sample of Biological Sex that the individual categorized as "female" had a star the went slightly on the "male" spectrum. Secondly, in gender expression, she disliked the first example that was categorized as "butch." She felt that this was degrading.

After going through the whole thing, my friend said that she thought that the Genderbread was useful. She also said that she wanted to print it our for herself and spend some time plotting herself in order to gain a better understanding of herself. Overall, this was a very positive experience.
