feminist selfie
Hi everyone! My name is Sammy Carroll, I am a senior communication studies major with a minor is school counseling and psychology. I don't yet know what I want to do with my degree but in an ideal world I would like to work with children in some capacity. I have spent my last five summers working at Camp Stella Maris which is an overnight camp on Conesus lake. I have a family of five and a dog named Kacy (I am a dog person through and through). My younger sister is a freshman at Fredonia this year and my older brother studies wine making and viticulture on Seneca lake. My sign reads, "I need feminism because my dad shouldn't have to ask if I want pepper spray every time I go back to school". Violence against women is a prevalent and noteworthy issue in our society today, it is one that I hope will change for the better in my lifetime. I thought that my sign represented the salience of this issue being that both my parents consider Fredonia a safe school they would send their daughters to but my dad still feels the need to ask this question.
