Josh's Intro

Hello Friends—my name is Josh. I’m a “Super Senior” Communication (Public Relations) major and History minor. Although I tend to be a person of few words around larger groups of people, it doesn’t mean that I’m not thinking. I actually write better than I speak because I can change or edit until I’m satisfied, which makes me comfortable. My sign reads: “I need feminism because—I think everyone deserves to be heard!” I’m all for taking a stand against oppression, marginalization, and negative perceptions surrounding minority groups. Also, it’s important to remind ourselves that we are still human beings, even though society places labels like lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer in order to attribute, categorize, and classify us. Although labels can be problematic, they are also necessary (to an appropriate extent) to give meaning.
