The main theme that I see in not only the Hobby Lobby case, but also many more, is that the male majority wins. In my opinion it is completely absurd that men are even allowed to decide whether a woman is entitled to birth control or not. We see this not only in the court system, but also in the corporate world. It's disgusting that only 5.4% of CEO positions are filled by women, and as a result, women are very rarely represented equally or thought of in the job sphere. There is absolutely no reason men should get to make decisions regarding women's bodies.
Sarah Mirk made it a point to discuss Obamacare, and how helpful that is by having a clause that actually requires covering birth control and reproductive health screenings. However, it is unfortunate that this does not require employers to also abide by this. A statistic that stifled me was said by Justice Ginsburg, "that women of childbearing age spend 68 percent more in out-of-pocket for health care costs than men." While I suppose that should not surprise me, I would really like to see a world where women are not obligated to spend that much money on healthcare, while men are not paying anywhere close to that.
I loved Mirk's last line of the article, she really summed up exactly what I think on matter. Personally, I plan to someday work I the corporate level, and I hope I see improvement by then, or can aid in that improvement myself.
