I Know Very Well How I Got My Name

One of the things I love most about Deline's book is that it deviates from the "born in the wrong body" trans narrative. This narrative has become the prominent one discussed by the public and circulated in the media, and it is important to understand that it is only one narrative, of many, involving the lives of trans individuals. So much focus has been placed on the born in the wrong body narrative that many people believe that all trans persons feels this way, and are ignorant of the fact that there are various trans narratives that are as diverse as the individuals themselves. Deline breaks away from the born in the wrong body narrative, effectively presenting that trans people can and do experience and conceptualize being trans in different ways.
