Feminist Photoshopping
I'm still not quite sold on the idea of this feminist photoshopping. I mean Fey noted the idea of just editing the little things like "armpit stubble", and that's fine I suppose, I just feel if you're going to be opposed to photoshopping ( in the major senses) why not do none at all. The point of the reading ( to me ) was to show that we need to teach our young girls/guys/whatever they identify with, that it's ok to be who they are, or at least you don't have to be the clearly edited figures of the media. So to me it would be a tad hypocritical to even use photoshop, but that's just my opinion. despite my opinion i understand that a bigger issue here is not whether Fey would photoshop but photoshop itself, and the way it's telling people they need to look a certain way ( all genders). in the end i don't think Fey should use photoshop, it would certainly improve the message she's sending, and i don't think feminist photoshopping is any different than regular photoshopping, you're still hiding the truth and reality from people and yourself.
