Social Constructs of Disability

I was a little confused with what I should say for  this post ( even if it is a tad late ).  For the thing I wanted to talk about, I was a bit unsure, because I didn't think that it applied to the assignment, however I think it does.  The learning center in my opinion is an offender of socially constructing disability.  I don't think the listening center itself, that causes it, but more so the stigma behind it.  Although it's not mentioned by everyone who goes there, actually mostly mentioned by people who have probably never gone there, usually say or think " well if you have to go there you must be dumb, what are you retarded?" and other such insults.  I think this is a big issue, more so with the people than it is the learning center, I've been there and i think it's great, but society sucks sometimes.  Outside of college life, this is applied to other places where people receive educational help, so these people all around us and is hopefully one day stopped.
